Before you order

Choose your size & color

  1. Measure the actual space. Leave room around window edges, handles, trim, and any moving parts. Keep your view through vehicle windows clear.
  2. Check the listing’s measurements. Our decal sizes are generally measured by the longest side. A 6-inch decal is not necessarily 6 inches wide and 6 inches tall; proportions depend on the design.
  3. Try a paper-size preview. Hold a paper rectangle in the approximate dimensions against the surface and step back to check the scale.
  4. Choose contrast. White or another light color stands out on dark tinted glass. Black or a darker color is easier to see on many light surfaces. Select from the options offered on your product page.

Make the details yours

Fill in the personalization fields on your chosen product before adding it to your cart. Options vary: some designs request a name only, while others include dates, a relationship, family figures, or business information.

Double-check names, spelling, dates, phone numbers, and wording. For a memorial, a nickname or a favorite interest can be just as meaningful as a full name. If your idea needs an option that is not listed, ask us about a custom design before ordering.

Check your surface first

Choose the right product & surface

Cut-vinyl decals are individual vinyl shapes or letters supplied with backing paper and transfer tape. Printed stickers are a separate product with a peel-and-stick application. Heat-transfer designs are for suitable fabrics and require their own application instructions.

For adhesive decals, start with a smooth, clean, dry surface such as glass, a mirror, suitable painted metal, or a compatible sealed plastic. Textured walls, unfinished wood, silicone, and porous or nonstick finishes may not hold a decal reliably. Permanent outdoor vinyl is not a removable wall-decor product.

For a framed memorial, applying the decal to smooth glass is an option. For tumblers, choose a suitable smooth finish and keep the design away from the drinking rim. Ask us before ordering if you are unsure about a surface.

Apply, care for & remove your decal

Follow the instructions included with your order. For cut vinyl, clean and dry the surface, press the design onto its transfer tape, remove the backing, position carefully, and rub from the center outward. Peel the transfer tape back slowly at a low angle.

Give the adhesive time to bond before washing. Clean gently and avoid scraping, abrasive pads, or directing high-pressure water at the edges. Follow your product’s care instructions; weather resistance does not mean every item is dishwasher-safe.

When removing an old decal, lift an edge gently and peel slowly. On suitable surfaces, gentle warmth may help soften the adhesive. Avoid sharp blades, high heat, and harsh chemicals on delicate surfaces. Removal results depend on the surface and its condition; contact us if you are unsure.

Quick answers

Does a cut-vinyl decal have a background?

The vinyl design remains on the surface after you remove the transfer tape. The surrounding space shows your window or other application surface. Printed stickers may have a printed background; check the listing.

Do I apply a car decal inside or outside the window?

Standard car-window decals normally go on the outside of the glass. Only use an inside-facing or mirrored application when your selected product specifically provides that option.

What if part of the decal stays on the backing?

Lay the backing down again and firmly rub that section onto the transfer tape. Peel the backing slowly at a low angle. If the design lifts while removing transfer tape from the surface, lower the tape and press again before continuing.

Where do I find shipping times and return information?

Check your product listing and our Shipping Policy for current processing and delivery information. Review our Refund Policy before ordering personalized items.

Can you help me choose or plan a custom decal?

Yes. Contact Nostalgi Factory with your wording, approximate size, preferred color, and intended surface. For an existing order, include your order number and a description of the issue.
